Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My Husband called Niko Reno first to get a quote, and because the quote was so reasonable, we didn’t look any where else.

Nikolay helped me with my design, was patient and accommodating to all my requests and changes I wanted.

I did want a full wall unit, wall to wall, and all the way to the ceiling, with cabinets and a really big counter space for working and basically for working on puzzles. So lighting is important for this activity, extra electric outlets and of course the second fridge has to fit!

The cabinets were top quality, as they were the softly closing doors - that was awesome, they were bright and some customizing to fit around the fridge, lower ceiling, and furnace vent and other electrical plugs.

Nikolay installed wiring for the overhead lighting in the cabinet, which fit perfectly. I was quite delighted with the additional features that came with the fixture. And a light switch.

The cabinets were installed with precision and accuracy, with care and only one day they were done. We ordered the counter, and was complete and installed in the next day. The area was completed with finishing touches on mouldings and area, and clean up.

I recommend Niko Reno Ltd. For all your renovation needs.

FAQs

Do I need a permit for a kitchen or bathroom renovation in Nanaimo?

It depends on the work. Replacing cabinets, countertops, tile or flooring generally doesn’t need one, but installing or moving plumbing fixtures, or altering walls, usually does. Inside city limits, building and plumbing permits come from the City of Nanaimo. In Regional District of Nanaimo electoral areas, such as Nanoose Bay, they come from the RDN. Electrical and gas permits are issued by Technical Safety BC. We’ll go over what your project is likely to need at your consultation.

How long does a kitchen or bathroom renovation take?

It depends on the size of the room, whether the layout changes, and lead times on materials like cabinets and tile. If your project needs a City of Nanaimo building permit, allow for approval time too: the City’s stated target for complete residential applications is about three weeks under normal conditions. We’ll talk through timing at your consultation.

I live in a strata. Is there anything I need to do first?

Usually, yes. Most strata bylaws require written approval from the strata council before you alter your unit, particularly for work involving plumbing, flooring or structure. Check your bylaws and get approval in writing before work is scheduled.

Do you only do kitchens and bathrooms?

Kitchens and bathrooms are our focus, but our team also does tiling, flooring and painting, on their own or as part of a larger renovation.

What areas do you serve from Nanaimo?

Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Nanoose Bay, Parksville and Qualicum Beach. For projects in Greater Victoria, see our Victoria renovation services.
